A catch-all feature that is enabled for a given email mailbox will allow you to receive email messages that are sent to email addresses that do not actually exist. Otherwise said, if you deactivate an email address and somebody still sends an email to it, or to any misspelled email address under the exact same domain name, you will get the message in the catch-all mailbox. Using this functionality means that you won’t miss an email for any reason whatsoever, which could be crucial in case you run a company, for instance. Since you may start receiving unsolicited emails, you can combine the catch-all feature with anti-spam filters so as to receive only authentic emails in your inbox. Just one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
If you have a Linux shared hosting plan with our company and you’d like to enable the catch-all feature for a particular mailbox that you’ve got in the account, it will take literally only a single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have set up under any domain name registered in the account. You can select one single email address per domain name by clicking the corresponding button. This will enable the feature instantaneously, so all emails sent to misspelled email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button once again will turn off the catch-all feature. If you have enabled email forwarding, our system will display a warning message and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature till you disable the forwarding or you can simply choose some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
You’ll be able to configure a catch-all address with no more than a click if you have a Linux semi-dedicated plan with our company and your email messages are handled by our cloud web hosting platform. All the mailboxes that you create using any domain name hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be listed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel. Each of them will have a small "Catch-all" icon next to it, so all it will take to activate the feature will be to click on that icon. In the same fashion you will be able to deactivate the feature, in case you don’t need it anymore. Our system will warn you if you’re attempting to enable a second catch-all mailbox for a particular domain name or if there is enabled email forwarding, but it will never deactivate or alter anything automatically or without your approval.
